Welcome to “The Overlook”. This exciting new estate offers over 4,000 square feet of Caribbean luxury. All interior living spaces are air conditioned for your personal comfort. Perched on a hill above the Atlantic Ocean, there are always wonderful tradewind breezes at “The Overlook” to keep you cool while relaxing poolside or on one of the many terraces or balconies.

“The Overlook” is Tom Denton and Kevin Cunha’s latest creation offering modern sophistication while maintaining every comfort. It will house their personal furniture and artwork collected over 20 years of travels and will be yours to enjoy during your stay. Their experience as property managers on the Island of Vieques has been incorporated into the design and construction of the villa and its gardens. They have created a luxurious home that will make your vacation or event special, relaxing, and carefree.

With your first step into “The Overlook’s” foyer/reception area you will know immediately that you have made an excellent rental selection, and  your vacation has started on the right foot (with or without shoes.) The beautiful staircase with its Turkish Marble stair treads and polished concrete handrail leads you to the second floor where the bedroom suites and formal library are located. You are welcomed with wonderful furnishings and a unique blend of interesting artwork and accessories.  You begin to feel the sense of home and are ready to call it such, at least for the week, two weeks, or whatever length of time you have selected to enjoy it.

Just off the entry is the open Great Room with commanding views of the pool, terraces, estuary, beautiful landscape, and the breathtaking ocean beyond. The entire main floor was created to include the common areas of the house where everyone can relax and enjoy each other’s company.

The living area has ample seating for conversation or watching a favorite movie on the large television, complete with DISH network programming. The entertainment system also includes a stereo receiver which provides surround sound to the Great Room, upstairs library, and both outdoor areas by the pool.

There is a game table in the living room where lazy hours can be spent playing backgammon, chess, or your favorite card game. This table can also be used as a breakfast nook or informal eating area for up to 4 people.

Between the living and kitchen area is a beautiful, one of a kind dining table that seats 14 people. The table is made of polished concrete and was designed by the owners. It was handcrafted by local artisans using black sand and was diamond polished with the greatest of effort to provide a perfect finish. On a shopping spree to Old San Juan the owners purchased Spanish Revival antique chairs from “El Alcazar” to use with the modern concrete table. The contrast of antique and modern, wood and stone, create a dramatic, stunning, and luxurious effect.

The kitchen is a large galley kitchen: long and narrow. It was created to provide the ideal culinary workspace, whether it’s breakfast for two or a dinner party for the extended family. The appliances are stainless steel and the counters and shelving are all of polished concrete. One end of the galley kitchen has a wet bar and beverage center and behind the kitchen is the large service/utility area. There is also a convenient, elegant powder room on the main level with a very unique carved marble sink.

The Guest Suite level was designed with great care to provide equal comfort to all guests. At the top of the stairway you cross a landing and recieve the first glimpse of the breathtaking views offered from every room on the second floor. You then enter the upper common area used as a library or sitting room for gathering outside your own private suite. It is the favorite room of the owners and offers one of the most beautiful views on the island. Culebra Island and St. Thomas are prominently situated on the horizon and the Vieques coastline and breaking surf frame the scene immediately below the gardens.

The three suites are each equipped with their own DISH television including movie channels and Sirius Satellite Music. There are receivers and speakers throughout each suite to enhance your listening pleasure. There is internet access available in each suite in addition to wireless internet access throughout the villa. All three suits have their own private bath with double sinks and either a stylized shower, garden tub, or both. Each suite also has its own private balcony or terrace, all with unobstructed ocean and mountain views of the Garden District.
